PARC takes fast lane to top with big wins at ARV

Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) is pleased to announce it has taken out two outstanding awards at the Aquatics & Recreation Victoria (ARV) awards night held recently.

The Annual ARV Industry Awards night sees aquatic and recreation centres across Victoria come together to celebrate the successful achievements of the past year, with a number of award categories highlighting excellence in the industry.

PARC was awarded the Facility Management Award, taking into consideration business and strategic planning, risk management, customer service, sustainability, continuous improvement as well as many other factors.

Highly regarded was its ongoing research in partnership with Life Saving Victoria which found most children overestimate their actual swimming ability, putting them at high risk of drowning. PARC’s Swim Vision initiative works to ensure that all local children can swim by the time they reach grade six, by making swimming accessible and affordable for everyone.

Only in its second year of operation PARC continues to boom, boasting exceptional growth across all lines of business, including a 36 per cent increase in health club memberships, 89 per cent increase in aquatic memberships and a 46 per cent increase in PARC Swim enrollments.

PARC CEO Tim Gledhill said the achievement was indicative of the hard work that goes on behind closed doors.

“PARC aims to consistently provide exceptional experiences to the community and to be recognised for our high performance is a true testament to the collective team of over 250 staff,” he said.

“We are absolutely thrilled with this achievement and will ensure our focus remains on delivering high quality programs and services that are designed to meet the needs of the Frankston community”

PARC trainer Marcin Piotrowski also had his efforts acknowledged by the industry, taking out the Personal Trainer of the Year award.

This year there was a record 144 nominations in the 21 categories, with all awards being hotly contested by such a high caliber of people and facilities.

PARC would like to thank its wonderful staff, members and guests for their ongoing support.
