Let's Move Challenge

Lets move

Donate your moves, March 12 - 31! Every move counts.

Join us in the global campaign against obesity and sedentary lifestyles.

Human beings were born to walk and move but technology and automation have made the world’s population far more sedentary than it was in the past. As a result, obesity has become a social and economic global issue. Adult and childhood obesity has risen 200% in the last 30 years with adolescent rising a phenomenal 400%.

Each year Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) commits to a worldwide campaign called Let’s Move for a Better World that runs from Monday 12 March - Saturday 31 March. This campaign is a global campaign to help fight the prevalence of obesity and help change sedentary lifestyles.

This year, we are opening our doors to local community groups to get involved for a chance to win a grand prize. The goal is to encourage friends and family and the wider community to come in to PARC and "donate" their physical activity ("MOVES") and give a local community group, school or sports club the chance to win a gym equipment pack valued at $10,000.

So how can you help?

  1. From Monday 12 March - Saturday 31 March, come into PARC and register your name with us to gain access to your Let's Move key
  2. Jump on the cardio equipment and begin donating your MOVES
  3. Once completed, receive your cardio token from one of our trainers and place it in one of the nominated community jars in the gym
  4. Return the next day to clock more MOVES

All nominated community groups will be eligible for the $10,000 equipment prize, so the more people to come down and support their chosen group the more chances there are of winning.

Click here to register and join the challenge.

All it takes is for you to do a maximum of 2000 moves a day! This can be achieved on any cardio equipment in the gym. A live leader board will be set up in the gym to track your progress against other members and PARC's progress against other participating gyms.

There will be heaps of prizes up for grabs along the way so let's get moving. It’s good for the community and good for you!
